Spirit is delighted to have been appointed by Bristol-based national charity Brandon Trust, which supports people with learning disabilities.
We’re working with the charity for the next 12 months to help map out a PR strategy and programme to maximise the opportunity of their 20th anniversary this year.
Celebrations kicked off with Twenty, a stunning photographic exhibition featuring the portraits and stories of 20 people the charity supports.
Spirit helped to attract new faces to the opening event, including local business people, councillors and Bristol East MP Kerry McCarthy. We were also pleased to secure coverage on ITV West Country, which helped to boost visitor numbers to the free exhibition at Bristol’s Watershed.
Thanks to great work from Brandon Trust’s comms team, all the images and stories can be seen on Society Guardian. Sian Packer, one of the people featured in the exhibition, gave a compelling interview on BBC Radio Bristol alongside Brandon Trust’s chief executive Lucy Hurst-Brown, as well as featuring in the Bristol Post.
Given the enormous changes in social care in recent years, this is an exciting and challenging time for Brandon Trust. We’re looking forward to working with the charity to highlight its innovative and campaigning approach, which aims to free people with complex needs to live the life they choose.
