Spirit is working with the Bristol Green Capital Partnership to support the city’s bid to win the European Green Capital Award in 2015.
Bristol came second to Copenhagen last year and the city has a fantastic opportunity to win the award this year, with the support of the Mayor who is firmly placing green issues at the heart of his vision.
Our work initially involved research among businesses to establish their support for the bid, and evaluating previous winners of the award to inform what Bristol needs to do to win this time.
We have now been asked to advise on how the bid is communicated to a range of audiences in Bristol, as well as helping the Partnership run a campaign to raise awareness of the bid and encourage people to pledge their support.
The campaign will use a wide range of tools, including social media and editorial channels, email activity, video and events.
If Bristol is shortlisted in April, the city will make a presentation of its bid to a European Jury in May and the winner will be announced in June. The aim of the award is to recognise and reward local work to improve the environment, the economy, and the quality of life for growing urban populations.
