Bristol-based charity Envision recently asked Spirit to step in and support the re-launch of their flagship apprenticeship programme.
Supported by Bristol Mayor George Ferguson, the ten-month programme aims to get young apprentices competing in teams to identify a social problem, create a solution and execute it within a deadline. The project aims to inspire confidence in young people, giving them a can-do attitude and teaching them skills for the future that employers look for in new recruits. Unlike Sir Alan Sugar’s boardroom however, everyone gets hired here…
Spirit worked closely with the Envision team to raise awareness of the apprenticeship scheme and garner support from local businesses, communities and individuals. With just a week to deliver a campaign, Spirit targeted local print, broadcast and online media outlets and secured coverage in The Post, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Points West, Bristol Business News, thisisbristol.co.uk and South West Business.
Over 100 guests attended the event at Harvey Nichols where young people from across the city presented their ideas and previous examples of project work to businesses and individuals to encourage them to support the scheme both financially and by acting as mentors.
