There is no doubt that zombies are trending – with World War Z in cinemas this summer and a forthcoming new series of US TV hit, The Walking Dead airing this autumn.
So when we were approached by Haynes Publishing to publicise their new Zombie Survival Manual, we immediately thought a short film could work well to generate interest in the book.
The target audience for the book embraces digital platforms and we believed a strong film would help spread the word on social media and help drive sales on Amazon.
Spirit’s senior consultant Felicity Davies, who has worked as a BBC Panorama and BBC News producer, collaborated with film maker Benjie Croce to create the film.
They considered whether to mirror the tone of the book and take a humorous route or go for a more terrifying approach.

In just a few days the film got more than 500 views on YouTube, before the start of a Haynes social media campaign, using #zombiesurvival.
This is the fifth film that Spirit has co-produced for clients.
