We have once again had an exciting and rewarding summer promoting the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, one of the UK’s biggest outdoor events.
This year’s press coverage reached an incredible 1.2 billion people, generating nearly £250K worth of press coverage and a 20 fold return on investment.
For the first time in the event’s history we organised a balloon tether roadshow, which saw balloons popping up across the South West and helped to build excitement ahead of the Fiesta.
Our press launch generated coverage on the homepages of MailOnline, Sky News and CBS, as well as in the Telegraph, the Times, the Independent’s i and across regional TV.
ITV Daybreak, Points West, ITV West and regional radio stations all reported live from the Fiesta on Friday morning and helped to encourage huge crowds to attend the event on Saturday and Sunday.
A number of high profile TV shows filmed pre-recorded programmes at the event itself, including Blue Peter, Embarrassing Bodies, Nina & The Neurons, Channel 5 and Seasons.
National and international newspaper coverage continued throughout the weekend, with articles appearing across the UK nationals and in the Times of India, Huffington Post, Times of Malta, Chicago Tribune, and Los Angeles Times.
By the end of the event more than 8,000 people liked the Facebook page which had a reach of over 140,000, and 5,355 people were following the Fiesta on Twitter.
