We were delighted to help launch Gromit Unleashed with Nick Park and The Grand Appeal charity recently.
Giant sculptures of Gromit, one of the worldās best-loved and triple Oscar-winning animated characters, will be unleashed onto the streets of Bristol next summer in a major new public art trail.
All funds from the projectĀ will go towards the charityās appeal to support the expansion of Bristol Childrenās Hospital, one of the leading multi-disciplinary childrenās hospitals in the UK.
There was intense media interest in Gromit UnleashedĀ and we worked hard to co-ordinate print, broadcast and digital news so that the whole project could be kept under wraps until launch day.
Highlights included national coverage on BBC Breakfast, Newsround and across the BBC News Channel and national website. Coverage also appeared in The Guardian and the Independent i and on news websites including The Independent.
Regionally, the story made the front page of The Bristol Post and was covered extensively by BBC Points West, ITV Westcountry and local radio stations. This included manoeuvring one of the 5ft Gromits into the BBC Points West studio for the evening show!
The launch generated widespread interest in the project and the Grand Appeal has been contacted by some leading artists interested in designing a Gromit as well as numerous businesses wanting to sponsor one of the 60 sculptures.
