We knew we had to work fast when we were signed up by ‘green financiers’ Abundance Generation in July to get profile for their wind turbine in the Forest of Dean.
In a world first, they were offering people who will live close to the turbine the opportunity to invest their own money into the project, from just £5.
With the investment window closing in the autumn, we only had a short time to grab the attention of local people during the summer and knew it would be challenging encouraging the press to think about wind turbines in a different way.
In six weeks the Abundance Generation project appeared in over ten print, radio and online news stories and features. It was also a key item on ITV’s Westcountry Tonight with a specially shot report featuring the client and its key partners.
We were also pleased when we secured the opportunity to get a first person 700-word story into the region’s main daily newspaper, the Western Daily Press. Authored by the founders of the turbine, this was a fantastic opportunity to really promote all of its benefits.
Our client was delighted, praising our ‘tenacity with the local media’ which has already paid dividends.
